psychotherapy, life coaching, truth, lies, emotional awareness, willful blindness

In psychotherapy, as in life, obstacles rush in to prevent and bury self-awareness. For a split second, there is an opening that permits us to see our internal, perhaps shameful, truths clearly; the very next second all the lies rush in to make such awareness completely disappear from our consciousness. It is a grave task for the therapists and patients alike to keep a vigilant watch for the next opening that may allow the awareness of an emotional truth.
